When you first log into WordPress, your dashboard will look similar to the screenshot above. It has various options available in it.
Posts are where your blog posts will be located. You can select to view all posts, add a new post, view categories or tags.
The Media is the place where all your photos and videos are located. Initially, it will be empty.
Next comes the comments. Comments display the comments on your post. You can even edit and delete the comments.
Next comes the appearance. It means how your website will actually look like.
WordPress offers thousands of themes to make a website and many more other options.
A plugin is a software that is installed on a program, enhancing its capabilities. For example, if we want to watch a video on a website, we may need a plugin to play it because our browser doesn’t have the tools it needs.
For eg.: getting a Blu-ray player for your Blu-ray disc.
Next comes the users. There are options available for users. It displays the current username and also we can add a new user, can check our profile and modify it. Multiple users can work on a single website but on different sections.
Next comes the tools.It displays us the available tools. We can also import new tools and export tools also.
The next is the pages. Pages display us all the pages and we can add a new page also. By clicking on the pages it takes us to some other page or post. Within a page, there may be other pages which will take us to a new post.
Settings options help us to modify the settings of a website we are working on according to our requirements.
